HOGWARTS LEGACY Gameplay Footage Reveals The HARRY POTTER Game You've Waited Your Whole Life For

During a special PlayStation "State of Play" stream that took place yesterday evening, over 14 minutes of footage from Hogwarts Legacy, the upcoming open-world Harry Potter RPG, was revealed. The video is made up primarily of actual gameplay, and looks even better than we expected; it will be possible to create your own character, get sorted into a house, and even take classes.

Throw in the fact that there's a solid combat system with casting spells and areas to explore outside the castle (by broomstick and Hippogriff), and this looks like the ultimate Harry Potter experience.

The Boy Wizard won't factor into proceedings, of course, as Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1800s. However, there is what looks like a compelling storyline with Goblins and Dark Wizards, and heaps of Magical Beasts that would have Newt Scamander positively losing his mind with excitement.

"Become the student you’ve always wanted to be as you experience life at Hogwarts and embark on a journey through the wizarding world," reads the synopsis for the game. "Discover magical beasts, craft potions, and master spell casting as you uncover the mystery of Ancient Magic."

Hogwarts Legacy is coming to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S this holiday season.
