Why Doesn't HOGWARTS LEGACY Include Quidditch And How Long Does It Take To Beat? Your Questions Answered!

If you own a PlayStation 5, chances are you're already getting hands-on with Hogwarts Legacy. However, we know many of you have big questions about the Wizarding World game, including why Quidditch isn't part of a title that attempts to recreate the experience of attending the school that Harry Potter will one day call home.

While you are able to fly on a broom to explore Hogwarts Legacy's massive map - you can even fly around the Hogwarts' Quidditch pitch - the game itself remains off-limits.

Why?

Well, near the beginning of the story, Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black (Simon Pegg) tells students that an "unfortunate injury" the previous year has led to the season being cancelled. It's a rather underwhelming explanation, and while Hogwarts Legacy's developers considered including Quidditch once upon a time, those plans were dropped early on.

That was down to a desire to focus on making the game as great as possible and, had they been forced to create a new system for an entire Quidditch match to be a playable experience, other areas of the title would have inevitably suffered.

Plus, having spent some time on a broomstick after first playing the game late last week, we can tell you that as fun as they are to take control of, it would have been tough for them to pull off the necessary moves for Quidditch.

Another big question surrounding Hogwarts Legacy's launch is how long it takes to complete.

We're already a couple of dozen hours in and not even a quarter of the way through the story, but can tell you that the main campaign takes at least 30 to 35 hours to finish. However, if you diverge from the path to explore, experience the side missions, and track down the collectables, it could be anywhere from 70 to 100 hours.

An injury in Quidditch is par for the course in the Wizarding World, Harry gets badly injured in 2 of the movies and along with other players takes some nasty falls in the other games. Those at most just postponed the teams next game, can't see what would warrant a cancellation of a full season.

I hope they have a team working on a Quidditch sports arcade game, that could be lots of fun. You can create all sorts of major league teams along with the ones Rowling already created and could let you start off playing at Hogwarts in the tutorial levels before getting scouted.
