After a lengthy five-year wait, including a COVID-19 production delay, Dharma Productions has finally released the official trailer for their upcoming fantasy adventure film Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva and it looks absolutely epic as we're introduced to the Astraverse, an original cinematic universe that will draw inspiration from deeply rooted concepts and tales from Hindu mythology.

Ayan Mukerji (Wake Up SidYeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) helmed the Bollywood feature, which stars real-life married couple Ranbir Kapoor (SanjuAe Dil Hai Mushkil) and Alia Bhatt (Gangubai Kathiawadi; Dear Zindagi) in the lead roles as Shiva and Isha, respectively.

The film is expected to be the first entry in a trilogy, telling the tale of the "Astras" (weapons) and the "Brahmastra" (the lord of all weapons), and how the reawakening of these ancient weapons will turn young Shiva's (Kapoor) life upside down. He'll have to learn to hone his own superpower - the ability to manipulate fire - and make a heroic effort to save the world from the greatest evil the world has ever seen.

Joining Kapoor and Bhatt are the legendary Amitabh Bachchan (Mohabbatein; Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham) as Guru, Mouni Roy (Gold; K.G.F: Chapter 1) as Junoon, Nagarjuna Akkineni (BangarrajuWild Dog) as Anish, Dimple Kapadia (TenetDabangg 3), Divyendu Sharma (Mere Desh Ki DhartiToilet: Ek Prem Katha), Dhruv Sehgal (Little ThingsModern Love: Mumbai), and Saurav Gurjar (MahabharatWWE NXT).

It's also been heavily rumored that megastar Shah Rukh Khan (Veer-ZaaraDon - The Chase Begins Again) will make a cameo appearance in the film and some fans already seem to believe they've spotted him in the trailer...

Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva hits theaters in India and across the globe on September 9.
