DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS: Live-Action Film Gets Official Title And Release Date

Using the first ever Dungeons & Dragons Direct event as a platform, Paramount has revealed the official title, logo, and release date for their upcoming D&D film!

After a very successful 2020, Dungeons and Dragons is creating some buzz for 2022 as Paramount Pictures has just released new details regarding their upcoming live-action film, including the official title, title treatment, logo, and most importantly for fans - when to expect the film to hit movie theaters! Fans of the theater-of-the-mind RPG fantasy game Dungeons & Dragons will rejoice to hear that the film adaptation of the beloved game's release isn't as far off as some might assume. 

At the first ever Dungeons & Dragons Direct event, Paramount took the opportunity to delight fans with brief video confirming the title of the film as Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Theives, along with a revealing a release date of 3/3/2023. 

The film has been in production for some time now with no real news leaking save for a few bts shots of Fast & Furious allum Michelle Rodriguez in costume, riding a dragon boat, and weilding a mighty axe!

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Theives will be brought to the silver screen by Game Night directors John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein, who are also credited as writers on the film. Bringing the characters to life will be Chris Pine (Wonder Woman, Star Trek), Rege-Jean Page (Bridgerton), Sophia Lillis (IT, Uncle Frank), Michelle Rodriguez (Fast & Furious Saga, Avatar), Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), and Hugh Grant (Love Actually, Notting Hill)


About Dungeons & Dragons: Commonly abbreviated as D&D or DNDDungeons & dragons is a tabletop fantasy role-playing game that was originally designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson in the 1970s. First published in 1974 by TSR (Tactical Studies Rules, Inc.). It is currently published by Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro, who has been publishing it since 1997. It is recognized as the beginning of modern role-playing games and the role-playing game industry.

With over 50 million players to date, Dungeons & Dragins success has seen many a similar game system and competitor, it still remains the market leader in the role-playing game industry. This through several different splits, branches, rule changes and revisions. As of this writing the 5th edition ruleset, which was released in 2014, is the most recent.

The game has won multiple awards and spawned a popular 1980's cartoon, video games, movies, collectibles, and action figures.
