The "Big Game" TV spot has just dropped for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Paramount Pictures' upcoming adaptation of the hit board game from directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. With that comes some new character posters, highlighting the movie's spell-binding ensemble.
Now, some of you may be wondering how we've been able to conjure up this teaser so soon, but it's become the norm in recent years for studios to release Super Bowl TV spots and trailers in advance to avoid them being overshadowed and overlooked on the night.
With Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. both expected to bring out the big guns this year, we'd say Paramount made the right decision in order to get plenty of eyes on Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
While fans have had their reservations about the movie, it looks like a riot based on this sneak peek and clearly isn't taking itself too seriously. There probably is a version of Dungeons & Dragons that's a full-blown fantasy blockbuster in the vein of The Lord of the Rings, but this take looks far more commercially friendly.
In the movie, a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.
The impressive cast includes Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure, and it arrives in theaters on March 31, 2023.
