While there's a fair bit of excitement surrounding Disney's live-action Snow White remake, the movie is one that's largely flown under the radar until fairly recently.

The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb is directing the live-action reimagining, with Shazam! Fury of the Gods breakout Rachel Zegler set to play the title character. As for the Evil Queen, Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot is lending her talents to one of Disney's most iconic villains, an undeniably intriguing prospect.

The original Snow White remains a beloved Disney classic, but none of those early Walt Disney movies have aged particularly well in the decades since first being released. The world was a different place then, and we heard early on that this remake wouldn't include the Seven Dwarfs.

You'd think Disney might have figured out a way to portray them in a way that would avoid offence, but set photos recently revealed a group consisting of one little person and a number of diverse male and female actors of regular stature.

The backlash online was immediate and vocal, with Disney being criticised for its "PC" approach to these iconic characters.

Now, a reliable scooper (via Toonado.com) has shed new light on this team, revealing that Snow White's new saviours are called the "Bandits." They sound very much like Robin Hood's Merry Men, while one of their members is said to be replacing Prince Ferdinand as the title character's love interest.

We're clearly getting a relatively loose adaptation of the original Snow White and that's bound to be problematic for a lot of fans. Disney has struggled when it comes to its remakes, either delivering shot-for-shot remakes (The Lion King) or delivering new interpretations that lose much of what made the cartoons so well-loved (Mulan).

Snow White is set to be released in theaters on March 22, 2024.

So putting Dwarf actors out of work, the woke brigade say only gays can play gay roles or transgenders can play transgenders but Dwarf roles can be played by anyone.

So we're due for another Mulan situation where they make a bad movie that's made for no one, fans of the OG story and/or movie won't be pleased, and most new people will be met with a joyless, designed-by-committee film that makes broad appeals to a "progressive or diverse" audience while doing none of the work.
