We're now just a few weeks away from the release of The Little Mermaid, and Disney has shared another 30-second TV spot featuring quite a bit of new footage.

In the promo, Ariel (Halle Bailey) finds a fork to add to her collection of "above world" artefacts. Unsure of what exactly the utensil is used for, she asks her feathered friend Scuttle, who is under the impression that it's some sort of comb.

She should probably stop asking the bird for advice!

Check out the new promo in the player below, and keep an eye out for a final trailer, which should be coming very soon.

Bailey stars alongside Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, and Awkwafina as Scuttle.

The Little Mermaid will feature music from the animated classic as well as four new songs. Lin-Manuel Miranda, who previously worked with Marshall on Mary Poppins Returns, will also compose original music for Mermaid along with Alan Menken.

The Little Mermaid is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.

The movie is set to swim into theaters on May 26, 2023.
