Wicked director Jon M. Chu recently shared a first official look at his big-screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, but the production stills didn't exactly set the internet on fire!

The images - which featured Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, aka The Wicked Witch, and Ariana Grande as Glinda, aka the Good Witch - were distant, barely visible shots of the characters. This was clearly by design in an effort to obscure the characters' features, but it wasn't the first look fans had been hoping for.

Now, some set photos and a video via Entertainment Tonight provide a much better look at Grande belting out a tune as Glinda.

We recently learned that Wizard of Oz fans will get the chance to follow the Yellow-Brick Road a little earlier than expected, as Universal Pictures' Wicked moved up the film's release date. Wicked is now set to hit theaters on Nov. 27, 2024 — just under a month ahead of schedule.

The prequel story will recount everything that happened before Dorothy 's journey, and tell the story of how a green-skinned woman named Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West.

Additional cast members include Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible and Ethan Slater as Boq
