Ahead of its premiere later this month, Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for Spirited, an upcoming musical comedy starring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool; Free Guy) and Will Ferrell (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy; Step Brothers), that will put a fantastical spin on the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol.
The plot should be fairly self-explanatory, as the film will essentially be a modern-day adaptation of A Christmas Carol, with Clint Briggs (Reynolds) serving in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, a man who will meet three Ghosts - Past (Sunia Mani), Present (Ferrell), and Yet to Come (Loren G. Woods) - over the holidays who will help him become a better man. However, in a fresh spin on the tale, the new film will also reveal the perspective of the ghosts.
Sean Anders (Instant Family; Daddy's Home) helmed the feature, utilizing a screenplay he co-wrote with John Morris.
In addition to Reynolds and Ferrell, the film stars Octavia Spencer, Sunita Mani, Patrick Page, Aimee Carrero, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley, Jen Tullock, P.J. Byrne, and Loren G. Woods.
Spirited hits theaters on November 11 and starts streaming on Apple TV+ on November 18.
