After a rocky past couple of days, which involved the release of a divisive first-look photo, Prime Video's God of War series is getting back on the horse with a flurry of casting announcements. This week, four new additions to the cast of the live-action series were revealed.

London-based actor Louis Cunningham has signed on as a series regular to play Modi, Sif and Thor's middle child. Cunningham stars as Louis XVI’ in two seasons of the Canal+ series Marie Antoinette. He also starred in The Party at the Hope Theatre in London.

"Modi has a gentle disposition and an obsessive, almost insatiably curious mind," Modi's character description reads. "He loves puzzles and complex problems—to such an extent that he often gets lost within them and forgets everything else around him."

Ben Chapple has also signed on to recur as Magni, Sif and Thor's eldest son. The studio describes Magni:

Handsome and adventurous, Magni is an excellent hunter and natural ladies’ man, but the life of an immortal playboy has begun to feel hollow and Magni is yearning for a greater purpose. He is extremely protective of his younger brother, Modi.

Chapple is an Australian actor whose screen credits include The CW's Good Cop Bad Cop and Paramount's Playing for Keeps.

Evelyn Miller (Foundation, The Lovers) will recur as Gna, Odin's Valkyrie commander. The British actress will help bring to life the "fierce warrior" in the upcoming adaptation. Described as "highly disciplined and uncompromising," Gna is "devoted to her duty with a loyalty to Odin that borders on fanatical." She's dedicated to serving the realm, "occasionally at the expense of her own wellbeing."

Miller is a British actor with an impressive list of theatre credits, including starring opposite James McAvoy as Roxanne in amie Lloyd’s critically acclaimed production of Cyrano De Bergerac. Other credits include Patriots (Noel Coward, West End) directed by Rupert Goold; Twelfth Night (Regents Park Open Air) directed by Owen Horsley; Midsummer Night’s Dream (Sheffield Crucible) directed by Rob Hastie; and Twelfth Night, The Comedy of Errors, Pericles (Shakespeare’s Globe) directed by Brendan O’Hea.

Rounding out the new cast additions is Island Austin (Insidious 6, I Can Only Imagine 2) as Thrud, Sif and Thor's youngest child. According to Amazon MGM Studios:

Thrud is precocious, inquisitive, curious, and fearless, with a natural yearning for knowledge. She’s gentle and kind, and often acts as a peace-maker with the rest of her troubled family. Her grandfather, Odin, sees seeds of greatness in Thrud (mostly because she reminds him of himself) and the two have a special bond.

Austin is one of the industry's brightest upcoming stars. Her first major role was in I Can Only Imagine 2, which she followed up with as co-lead in Blumhouse's Insidious 6.

Production on Prime Video's God of War series kicked off last month. The announcement was accompanied with a first-look image featuring series stars Ryan Hurst and Callum Vinson in the roles of Kratos and Atreus. Co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions, Prime Video's God of War series is a live-action adaptation of PlayStation’s massively popular ancient mythology-themed God of War video game. The series has already received a two-season order, but no release date has been announced yet.
