With set photos for Percy Jackson and the Olympians starting to find their way online, Disney+ just shared a first official look at Walker Scobell as the titular character, Leah Jeffries as Annabeth, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover.
This shot of the trio doesn't tell us much about what to expect from Disney's small screen adaptation of the hit book series, but it certainly appears as if the streamer has made the best possible casting decisions for these beloved characters. As for those set photos, they're a little more revealing.
The kids have been spotted walking about a museum that we're guessing is supposed to be the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Percy uses a fountain's water on a fellow classmate, only to be pulled aside by his teacher.
Annabeth and Grover weren't originally present for that scene, though it wouldn't exactly be a shocker if this show is changing things up a bit and making them a little more central to the story. Either way, this first look is welcomed, and we're hoping to see much more from this one soon (especially with Disney+ Day just mere weeks away).
Based on Disney Hyperion's best-selling book series, the series tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who's just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt.
With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians also stars Aryan Simhadri, Leah Sava Jeffries, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Virginia Kull (The Big Bend), Glynn Turman, Timm Sharp, Olivea Morton, Dior Goodjohn, and Charlie Bushnell.
