We got a first glimpse of some footage from George Miller's Three Thousand Years of Longing earlier this week, and MGM has now shared the full trailer for the Mad Max: Fury Road director's upcoming fantasy epic.

The story follows follows a scholar (Tilda Swinton) on a trip to a speaking engagement in Istanbul who inadvertently summons a Djinn (Idris Elba). The genie-like entity then details his long journey through fantasy and history as he endeavors to tempt this scholar — who claims she wants for nothing — to make her three wishes.

Based on this teaser, the movie is shaping up to be a little more comedic than we expected (not a bad thing, necessarily), but Miller's eye for detail and signature visual style are very much on display.

Check out the footage below along with a new poster, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

Three Thousand Years of Longing is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this Monday before its theatrical release later this summer.
