Mad Max: Fury Road has once again been making headlines lately, especially after Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron finally opened up about their feud on set. The 2015 movie was a soft reboot for the series, with the Venom star taking over from Mel Gibson after he was taken out of the running to return as Max, and Theron bringing the now fan-favourite Furiosa to life.

Anya Taylor-Joy is set to pick up where she left off in an upcoming prequel, but it's no secret that Angelina Jolie, Jessica Chastain, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ruth Negga, and Gal Gadot were among those considered for Furiosa alongside Theron.

Now, thanks to Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The While & True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road author Kyle Buchanan, we have some behind the scenes photos from Gadot's Furiosa audition. It sounds like she came extremely close to nabbing the role, but don't feel too sorry for the actress as she's found plenty of success after being cast in Batman v Superman as Wonder Woman!

There's also a cool shot of The Batman star Zoë Kravitz (who ultimately played Toast The Knowing) and some photos of Hardy and Theron - prior to falling out - along with Nicholas Hoult.
