CRIMES OF THE FUTURE Director David Cronenberg Expects Walkouts In "First Five Minutes"; New Poster Released

Crimes of the Future director David Cronenberg has said that he fully expects people to walk out of the controversial sci-fi horror movie within the first five minutes. We also have a new poster...

You can tell from watching the trailers for Crimes of The Future that the twisted sci-fi horror film is not going to be for everyone, and we've already heard from someone who's seen it who said he almost had a panic-attack during the last 20 minutes.

Now, director David Cronenberg has revealed that he fully expects people to walk out... within the first five minutes!

"There are some very strong scenes," the legendary filmmaker tells EW. "I mean, I'm sure that we will have walkouts within the first five minutes of the movie. I'm sure of that. Some people who have seen the film have said that they think the last 20 minutes will be very hard on people, and that there'll be a lot of walkouts. Some guy said that he almost had a panic attack. And I say, 'Well, that would be OK.' But I'm not convinced that that will be a general reaction."

Cronenberg has been pushing buttons his entire career, but it sounds like his latest project is going to take things to a whole new level.

The film stars Viggo Mortensen as a celebrity performance artist named Saul Tenser who, along with his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs. Kristen Stewart plays an agent from the National Organ Registry named Timlin who becomes involved with the pair during her investigation.

If you want some idea of what to expect, check out the latest red band trailer below, along with a new poster.
