Universal's hotly-awaited Jurassic World: Dominion is off to a strong start overseas, and is expected to gross over $45 million from 15 foreign markets, including a big $6 million start in Korea, which is the fourth-biggest opening day ever in that market.

It will also open in Mexico, Brazil, and Italy this weekend and is currently tracking on par with the international performances of 2015's Jurassic World and 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Domestically, Jurassic World: Dominion to still projected to open somewhere in the $160 million to $210 million range next weekend, which would give it the second-highest opening weekend in the franchise's history, behind only Jrassic World ($208.8M). There's also a strong chance the Colin Trevorrow-directed sequel will open near the higher end of that range, especially with the studio pushing this installment as the final chapter in the franchise along with the heavy marketing focus on the returning legacy cast members.

On another note, while none of the previous films have featured any sort of alternate cut, franchise newcomer DeWanda Wise did tease a potential extended cut that could be coming to home media. Speaking to Collider about crafting her character's backstory, she teased,

She had this moment, and it’s probably gonna be in the extended cut, maybe, we’ll see, but she has this beautiful pair of brass knuckles and we have this entire backstory of this adventure that she had gone on in South Africa — [laughs] Girl, I love backstories! — where she procured these knuckles. Because a lot of Kayla has this kind of Indiana Jones, she’s been everywhere. Some of her travels are for work and she goes on them because she has to go on them, and some are just for her.

While it's unlikely an extended cut will be released, it is certainly an interesting prospect and could prove to be fun supplemental material for a gargantuan film that is already expected to run 146 minutes.
