JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION Star Chris Pratt Calls The Movie A "Finale" And "The End Of This Franchise"

Is the clock ticking on the Jurassic Park franchise? It's hard to say for sure, but based on recent comments from star Chris Pratt, we'll be saying goodbye to Jurassic World after Dominion is released...

The Jurassic Park franchise may have ended on something of a disappointing note after a couple of underwhelming sequels, but the Jurassic World era has definitely helped restore the series' former glory. However, with its upcoming sixth chapter, Dominion, it appears this story is nearing its end.

"You know when you go to a fireworks display like the Fourth of July or New Years, there's always the finale? You're waiting for it, and then boom! And you're like, 'Oh! This is it! This is the finale!' I feel like the whole movie is that," star Chris Pratt shares in the video below. "It's...30 years in the making, it's the sixth Jurassic film, it's the end of this franchise."

"I really do think it's the end," he added when asked if Dominion is really going to wrap up the Jurassic movies for good. "You've got the legacy cast back - Sam Neil, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum plus the cast of Jurassic World all...converging in a way that is very much a finale."

Universal Pictures has nowhere near enough profitable franchises to shelve the Jurassic movies for too long, but we're guessing this means a complete overhaul is coming. That could result in stories set in the past or even post-apocalyptic tales in a world where dinosaurs rule. Whatever the case may be, what comes next is probably unlikely to be made clear until Dominion is released.

What we can say is that with the original and new cast uniting, the series will go out with a bang roar!

Jurassic World Dominion arrives in theaters on June 10.

Finally. Now Hollywood can focus on remaking the first movie more in the lines of the original book. A more faithful adaptation of Crichton's 1990 novel would work better than dumb sequels full of stupid decisions.

@Yuhio - I dunno. Crichton himself adapted his sequel novel to conform with Spielberg’s movie.

I don’t think there’d be that many changes to a rebooted first film that we haven’t already seen in the movie sequels. A finale that focuses on raptors, Hammond’s end, compies in the first film, Alan with a beard (haha).I don’t see many significant changes that’d make it much different than what we’ve got.

Not that the sequels are good. I also don’t buy for a minute they’ll let this property end. I hope they give it a rest for a bit and try something new in a few years that isn’t reliant on nostalgia. They are still the only mainstream offering of dinosaurs in the modern age. There’s a lot of potential there without having to rehash the island survival story.
