It's been a while since we heard anything about this one, but Warner Bros. has now debuted a (brief) first teaser promo for Parasite director Bong Joon Ho's new film, Mickey 17.

Based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, the sci-fi thriller stars Robert Pattinson (The Batman, Tenet) as the title character.

Plot details are few and far between, but the book follows "a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous—even suicidal—the crew turns to Mickey7. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal… and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it."

Although the film will be inspired by its source material, it's not expected to be completely faithful to the story. Bong will also produce the untitled project for his production company Offscreen alongside Dooho Choi for Kate Street Picture Company and Plan B.
