20th Century Studios has debuted the first official footage from Prey, which is set to premiere on the Hulu streaming service on August 5th.

The teaser trailer doesn't reveal much (we don't get a proper look at the Predator himself), but we do see Naru (Legion's Amber Midthunder) running for her life through some long grass. A friend is there waiting with a bow and arrow, but the ruthless alien hunter has already spotted them, and aims his familiar three-light scope at the unfortunate Comanche warrior's head.

Shane Black's underwhelming 2018 effort, The Predator, seemed to put the sci-fi action film series to rest for a while, but it looks like Disney is determined to breath new life into the franchise. The script is being written by Patrick Aison, whose producer/writer credits include Kingdom, Jack Ryan and Treadstone.

Check out the teaser below, and let us know what you think.

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan, Treadstone), and produced by John Davis (Jungle Cruise, The Predator) and Jhane Myers (Monsters of God), with Lawrence Gordon (Watchmen), Marty Ewing (It: Chapter Two), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas and Marc Toberoff (Fantasy Island) serving as executive producers.

Looks cheap, but it certainly can't be worse than Shane Blacks Predator movie. I'd rather sit through the AvP movies on repeat for a month than have to watch that crap again.
