Believe it or not, it's been two decades since we last had a RoboCop video game on consoles, but that's set to change in 2023 with RoboCop: Rogue City. Coming our way from Nacon, the first gameplay footage has been revealed, and this first-person shooter certainly looks like it will deliver an intense, action-packed experience.

Along with gunning down enemies, it looks like we'll be able to slam bad guys into the surrounding environment, making short work of them in a suitably brutal fashion.

The biggest surprise, however, may be the inclusion of original RoboCop actor Peter Weller. He's reprising the role here after last lending his voice to his most iconic role in Mortal Kombat 11, and we're guessing this will serve as something of a loose sequel to those iconic movies.

"Welcome to Detroit; crime runs rampant as the city lies on the edge of ruin, people fighting for scraps as others live extravagant lives of luxury," reads the synopsis. "Control of the Detroit Police Department is given to the Omni Consumer Products corporation in an attempt to restore order. You are that solution, RoboCop, a cyborg tasked with protecting the city."

The triumphant return of RoboCop wouldn't feel right without the man who brought so much life into the role, so Weller's return is definitely welcomed. Hopefully, this game won't be as disappointing as the title characters last big screen outing.

RoboCop: Rogue City is coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC sometime in June 2023.
