There were more huge developments for Cassian Andor in today's episode of the Disney+ series as the future Rebel found himself on the wrong side of the law yet again, this time with dire consequences...

Andor once again put action to one side for "Announcement," but that proved to be no bad thing. With the heist behind him, Cassian returned to Morlana One in an effort to convince his adoptive mother, Maarva, to leave the planet and find somewhere warm where they can be free of Imperial rule.

In flashbacks, we learn that her husband was killed by the Imperials, and she explains that what happened on Aldhani has inspired her to Rebel against the Empire. As a result, Maarva declines to join Cassian as he goes on the run with his share of the credits from that job.

Meanwhile, the robbery has inspired the ISB (Imperial Security Bureau) to tighten its grip on the Galaxy. Luthen is pleased by this development as it will remind everything that they're being strangled by their oppressors, though Mon Mothma is less sure. Despite that, she enacts a plan to acquire her family's money in secret so she can fund the Rebellion.

Poor old Syril Karn continues to be the Star Wars franchise's resident sad sack, though, munching on cereal while his mother berates him. He gets a new job working for the Empire, but it's more akin to a prison than a role that can help him capture Andor and prove himself a hero.

Talking of prison, things go badly wrong for Cassian on Niamos. After shacking up with a local girl, he finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The Empire has found its way here as well, and after being wrongly accused of being part of a Rebel plot, he's sentenced to six years behind bars, quickly ending what looked like a "happy" ending for Cassian. Ironically, it's an Imperial droid who looks exactly like K-2SO who apprehends him, though this appears to be an Easter Egg rather than that character's introduction.

Being locked up might just make him an easier target for Vel, though, as she's back on Coruscant and told by Luthen's assistant, Kleya, that Cassian is a loose end who needs to be dealt with. She clearly reports to someone more than just Luthen, with the assumption being that it's Forest Whitaker's resistance fighter Saw Gerrera, calling the shots from afar.
