ANDOR Season 2 Update Revealed, But Is Lucasfilm Already Planning To Shoot Season 3 As Well?

Elstree Studios in the UK has hosted many iconic movies over the years, including the Star Wars franchise. Now, Making Star Wars is reporting that Andor season 2 is set to begin shooting there this November. It's no secret that another batch of episodes is in the works, but the site notes that production is expected to take as long as eighteen months.

That's an oddly long amount of time, especially as it would mean there would be a good two years or so between seasons of the show. However, the site observes that it's possible Lucasfilm will either shoot season 2 and 3 or that they may be planning to film two separate projects during that period.

Since this news broke, Screen Rant has run an update claiming Disney has debunked these claims.

That's to be expected, of course, as the studio isn't exactly going to come out and confirm reports like these. Hopefully, future plans for Andor and the Star Wars franchise as a whole will be revealed during next month's Star Wars Celebration convention. We remain in the dark about what's heading our way on the big screen, of course, but Lucasfilm's Disney+ plans continue to expand.

As for Andor, it's still expected to arrive on Disney+ sometime between Obi-Wan Kenobi's debut on May 27 and The Mandalorian's return during the winter.
