Star Wars fans have been hoping to see Cameron Monaghan, who gave his voice and likeness to Cal Kestis in the best-selling Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game and its upcoming sequel Survivor, reprise the role in live-action one day, and if a new rumor is to be believed, that day may be drawing near.
According to former Collider host Kristian Harloff on his YouTube channel, a Disney+ series based on Kestis' adventures is in the works, and Monaghan has signed on to play the fan-favorite Force-wielder. Harloff stresses that this is very much a rumor, but he definitely seems to trust his source.
We don't really have much more to go on at this time, but Kestis has been rumored to appear in live-action form in other projects in the past, so while this is certainly worth keeping an eye on, we're going to maintain a healthy does of scepticism until we learn more.
Given the Fallen Order game's popularity, it wouldn't be remotely hard to believe that Disney/Lucasfilm might be interested in some kind of live-action showcase for the character. The events of the game takes place before The Mandalorian, so if they decided to set this show later in the timeline, it could tie-in to future seasons of the likes of The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and more. Survivor, meanwhile, is said to take place around the same time as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
What do you guys make of this? Would you be interested in a Cal Kestis-centric Disney+ series, or would you prefer if the character remained part of the video game universe (the games are considered canon, incidentally).
