OBI-WAN KENOBI Countdown Teaser Released As Ewan McGregor Reveals Whether He's Open To Season 2

Lucasfilm has dropped a countdown teaser for Obi-Wan Kenobi, while star Ewan McGregor has revealed whether he would be open to playing the iconic Jedi Master again following the Disney+ "limited series."

It's no secret that, like most of the cast, Ewan McGregor didn't have the smoothest experience working on the Star Wars prequels. With so much new technology utilised by director George Lucas, actors found themselves working against green screens in locations and sets that weren't actually there. Needless to say, we didn't ever expect to see him return to this Galaxy Far, Far Away.

That hasn't stopped fans from hoping it might happen, of course, and the actor repeatedly expressed interest in reprising the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi whenever he was asked...we just didn't believe it!

Now, McGregor will get another shot at playing the Jedi Knight in Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series, and when Games Radar asked if the door is open to another appearance as the hero, McGregor seemed open to the idea. "If we were to get an opportunity to do it again, I’d be totally up for that," he admitted. "Here I go again. It’s like me knocking at Disney’s door again!"

"It was nice to come back and to bridge that gap between me and Alec Guinness. I got as much, or more, out of playing him this time than I did in the first three movies put together," he continued, reflecting on this experience. "That’s to do with the writing, and the people we were making the series with, and the technology, and how different everything is."

Ahead of Obi-Wan Kenobi's premiere on May 27, Disney+ has also debuted a promo beginning the countdown to its debut. Hopefully, this is setting the stage for a new trailer to be shared online soon...
