OBI-WAN KENOBI First Trailer Unleashes The Sith Inquisitors As The Iconic Jedi Knight Comes Out Of Hiding

The first trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the upcoming Star Wars live-action series coming to Disney+, has been released, and it's fair to say this limited series is going to be out of this world (literally and figuratively).

In this sneak peek we find the Jedi Master watching over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, but when the sinister Sith Inquisitors start making their presence felt, it becomes clear "Ben Kenobi" will finally be forced out of hiding as he embarks on a new mission.

This is the first time these villains been portrayed in live-action and, yes, that is indeed Star Wars Rebels' Grand Inquisitor. He was played by Jason Isaacs in that series, but will be brought to life by Rupert Friend in this project. We'd argue that they looked a little better in animation than they do here; however, the threat they pose is clearly a significant one based on this epic footage.

That's it for major reveals, but stick around until the end and you'll hear familiar breathing. It's also telling that "Duel of the Fates" is used...could that play when Kenobi battles Darth Vader again?

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat - the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. The series is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.

Obi-Wan Kenobi  premieres on May 25.
