We're sure Star Wars Day still has some surprises in store for us, but what a way to kick things off with a new trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, eh? You can watch that by clicking here, but we now have a poster that puts Darth Vader front and centre along with his former Master. Could this be an indication that Anakin Skywalker will return to Tatooine? We can't say for sure, but it looks like a possibility.
With that comes a new batch of hi-res stills shared by Lucasfilm. Despite essentially being screencaps from the latest trailer, these offer a closer look at several key characters and moments.
Among them is what looks like a scene showing Darth Vader suiting up, a process we're sure is painful and traumatic for the hero turned villain. The Sith Inquisitors also receive the spotlight, along with "Ben" Kenobi's time on Tatooine and a tense exchange with Luke Skywalker's Uncle Owen.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where the hero faced his greatest defeat - the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Deborah Chow directed all six episodes of the show which premieres on May 27 with its first two episodes and wraps up on June 22 with its finale.
