Considering the fact Lucasfilm has shared concept art of Obi-Wan and Darth Vader squaring off in the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series coming to Disney+ this May, it's not exactly a spoiler to say the two former allies will soon share the screen again. However, while we've heard that their battle will be epic, it sounds like we're getting more than just the one rematch.
According to LRM Online, Obi-Wan and his former apprentice and best friend will fight each other twice over the course of the six-part limited series. They claim that those "will rank at the top of Star Wars battles" and not that we should "be prepared for the battles between the Jedi and Sith Lord to be epic."
While A New Hope featured the final battle between Kenobi and Vader, both were quite a bit older by that point. Hopefully, the fact they're crossing paths again here in their primes will result in the confrontation fans have dreamed of ever since Anakin Skywalker fell to the dark side and was consumed by those flames on Mustafar (blaming his former Master the entire time).
Vader has nothing but hatred for Obi-Wan at this point and has likely spent years hunting for him. With these battles, Lucasfilm can add to that relatively tame clash in A New Hope and perhaps even elaborate on their exchange (which never quite lined up with what happened in Revenge of the Sith).
Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 25.
