Ever since rumours of some sort of Obi-Wan Kenobi movie or TV show began, fans have shared their hopes that Liam Neeson might reprise the role of Qui-Gon Jinn. Obi-Wan's master fell at the hands of Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace, but later mastered the ability to become a Force Ghost, and seemingly promised to teach his former student how to do the same.
Obi-Wan seemingly sacrificed himself to Darth Vader so he could become more powerful, and his guidance ultimately helped Luke Skywalker do what was necessary to end the Empire's reign, redeem Anakin Skywalker, and stop Emperor Palpatine (until The Rise of Skywalker rolled around, of course).
Now, Bespin Bulletin is reporting that we will see Neeson make a physical appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi as Qui-Gon. It's unclear what role he'll play beyond, that, though we'd guess he's probably been imparting some wisdom on his former Padawan as he teaches him how to live on even after death.
This is long overdue and as Obi-Wan Kenobi is only set to be a "limited series," this is the best - and likely final - place to make this happen and fill in some gaps in old Ben Kenobi's life on Tatooine.
There's still no word on when a trailer is likely to drop for the show, though sometime in early April seems most likely as Disney+ is probably going to want to keep the focus on Moon Knight this month.
Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 25. Keep checking back here for updates!
