With just over a week to go before Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives on Disney+, a new featurette for the show has been released that sees star Ewan McGregor look back at his amazing Star Wars journey.
Sharing his love and admiration for Alec Guinness in the original trilogy, he goes on to reflect on being cast as the iconic Jedi Master in 1999's The Phantom Menace. After recalling getting to pick his lightsaber and the training necessary for that epic battle with Darth Maul, McGregor concludes by sharing some insights into what it's been like to now reprise the role for the upcoming limited series.
We're hopeful that lots more new looks at Obi-Wan Kenobi are heading our way over the next week or so, but this is a good start and a great way of teasing the actor's long overdue return to the role.
Check out this featurette below:
Obi-Wan Kenobi's story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where the hero faced his greatest defeat - the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader (we're hoping to also see him as Anakin Skywalker).
Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Deborah Chow directed all six episodes of the show which premieres on May 27 with its first two episodes and wraps up on June 22.
