As promised, a new trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released during The Game Awards yesterday evening along with confirmation that the sequel launches on March 17, 2023.

Picking up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi: Survivor is a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. If this trailer is any indication, the stakes will be considerably higher in the game, with new supporting characters, locations, and gameplay mechanics.

No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight.

Carrying the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order with him, his crusade against the Empire has only become more perilous. The Dark Times are closing in - with enemies new and familiar surrounding him, Cal will need to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.

The cinematic combat system returns with additional Force abilities and new lightsaber fighting styles. Players will be able to creatively leverage all these skills to strategically take on an expanded host of enemies, sizing up strengths and weaknesses while cleverly utilizing their training to overcome opponents and solve the mysteries that lay in their path.

Jedi: Fallen Order boasted a great story, and mostly solid gameplay. However, everything about this follow-up just looks better, and we have a feeling this could be something truly special. Story details are still relatively scarce, though the villains teased here look suitably formidable.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC and, as noted, hits stores on March 17, 2023.
