Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim, Without Remorse, Anne Boleyn) is set to join Bodies Bodies Bodies star Amandla Stenberg in the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series, The Acolyte.

Turner-Smith is only the second cast member to be announced for the project after Stenberg, and while we know the latter will play the lead, further details on both of their roles are being kept under wraps.

Leslye Headland is on board as showrunner.

We still don't know very much about The Acolyte, but the series has been described as "a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era."

Official plot details have not been shared beyond that, but there have been plenty of rumors! One report claims that Emperor Palpatine's Master, Darth Plagueis, will factor into the story in some capacity, maybe even as the Acolyte of the title. Palpatine himself is unlikely to appear since the show is set long before he came to power, but based on everything we've heard so far, the show will primarily focus on the Dark Side of the Force and the eventual emergence of The Sith.

The Acolyte is expected to begin shooting in Lodon later this year.
