The Mandalorian has been a bigger hit than anyone could have ever expected, leading to an even greater exploration of a post-Return of the Jedi setting in shows like The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. That expansion will continue with Skeleton Crew, and we have to believe Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are plotting some big crossovers in the years ahead.

We've already seen this with Ahsoka Tano making an appearance in The Mandalorian and Din Djarin's story continuing in The Book of Boba Fett; clearly, expanding and tying together this Galaxy Far, Far Away's history is a priority for Favreau.

"There are so many characters in Star Wars and so many time periods that we’re often making charts of how things would intersect and how things would impact one another," he tells Entertainment Weekly. "But at the end of the day it just comes down to storytelling, [and me and Dave Filoni] pitching each other ideas."

"We have Ahsoka filming, often several episodes at once, with different directors. Skeleton Crew, which is Jon Watts’ and Chris Ford’s show, that’s going on several stages," Favreau continued. "And then Mando I’m doing editing and visual effects and writing. There are so many different creative nodes that are all sharing with one another, all around this world that George Lucas built."

That just goes to show how ambitious these small screen Star Wars plans are, and it was at this point Favreau seemed to suggest we can expect Skeleton Crew characters to appear in The Mandalorian's eventual fourth season.

"To have this young, Amblin-feeling movie with young people, who grew up in the Star Wars world and are exposed to adventure. The puppets, the costumes, the visuals, the world that’s being expanded upon. And now I get to write the next season of Mandalorian with all these new characters and new locations and new creatures."

"There’s this cohesive group of stories that are being told thanks to all these filmmakers that are contributing."

This is by no means confirmation that The Mandalorian and Skeleton Crew will link up, but it certainly sounds like some of the characters introduced in the latter will find their way into Din Djarin's - and Grogu's - corner of the Star Wars Universe.
