While we had heard The Mandalorian season 3 would hit Disney+ sometime in February, it's now been confirmed that the series premiere drops on March 1!
This news is sure to be welcomed by fans eager to return to this corner of the Galaxy Far, Far Away, and assuming we're getting eight more chapters, this will take us right through to the end of April. Season 2 ended back in December 2020, though Din Djarin and Grogu both returned in The Book of Boba Fett, stealing the show from the title character.
Reunited after a brief separation, the duo's hunt for a Jedi has reached its end. Now, we expect the focus to shift to Mandalore as Din - the rightful wielder of the Darksaber - likely finds himself tasked with retaking his people's planet.
If the first two seasons proved anything, it's that we can expect some big surprises, and we do hope that more of Grogu's past will be explored (such as who saved him in the Jedi Temple). We're also keen to learn what cloning operation Moff Gideon was working on, why he needed The Child for his experiments, and whether it ties into Supreme Leader Snoke's creation.
2023 looks set to be another exciting year for Star Wars on the small screen as we're also getting Ahsoka and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, two more shows set in this post-Return of the Jedi era.
With the news of a March 1 premiere dates comes a brand new still from The Mandalorian's third season, which puts the spotlight on Din and Grogu in the former's repurposed Naboo Starfighter. It sure is great to see them together again, eh?
