There's a lot of excitement for The Mandalorian's upcoming third season, no great surprise when it remains one of the most popular Star Wars stories told by Lucasfilm in this Disney-era.
It's already been confirmed that the show will return to Disney+ next February, but Making Star Wars is now reporting that it will likely premiere on February 22, 2023. That's going to come around quickly, and the site drops a small scoop by teasing that "Grogu will get a really cool new feature." What that could be remains to be seen.
They're also reporting that Lucasfilm will drop a trailer for The Mandalorian on Christmas Day. Given the wording in their report, it sounds like this will be the final trailer for the series after the first dropped during this year's D23 celebrations.
That will be a nice Holiday treat, anyway, and The Mandalorian will follow movies like Deadpool and Alien Covenant by dropping a Christmas Day sneak peek.
The site goes on to state that the trailer is under two minutes and introduces us to Christopher Lloyd's "Mando-clan-leader." It's noted that, while the preview makes us think Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze will be at odds, that's unlikely to be the case in the show itself.
It won't be too long until we find out whether these claims are legitimate, as it's added that we're getting a poster on or around December 14.
We certainly hope the marketing campaign for The Mandalorian season 3 will start picking up steam soon, though Lucasfilm no doubt wants to keep the focus on Andor for now. The finale drops on November 23, so these timings all make sense. As per usual, though, it's best to take this all with a pinch of salt until Disney officially comments.
