THE MANDALORIAN Star Pedro Pascal On Why He Believes A Movie Featuring The Bounty Hunter Is "Inevitable"

The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal has shared his thoughts on the possibility of a movie revolving around the bounty hunter and Grogu, saying he thinks a leap to the big screen for Din Djarin is "inevitable."

The Mandalorian has been a huge hit for Disney+, and with a fourth season now confirmed, it seems clear that telling Din Djarin's story is going to be a priority for Lucasfilm moving forward. While Rangers of the New Republic was scrapped following Gina Carano's firing, we've already had one spinoff in The Book of Boba Fett and two more are on the horizon: Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew.

While the studio is clearly finding a great deal of success on streaming, the same isn't true in theaters. The Star Wars sequels were incredibly divisive, while upcoming projects like Rian Johnson's mystery trilogy and Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron appear to have fallen by the wayside.

So, could Mando be brought to the big screen?

"Don't you think it's inevitable?" actor Pedro Pascal said during an interview with Variety"I, personally, I have no — truly — I have no idea, but that would be a dream come true. Not that any more dreams could possibly come true! [Laughs] Maybe I've had my fill."

"Seeing just the trailer on a big screen like that, I mean the way it envelopes you and takes you back, and at the same time, it is beyond special to be able to kind of have the intimate experience that we do have with these chapters of The Mandalorian and its expanded universe and everything that is to come and everything that's just started as far as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and we're figuring it out."

"I love going to the movies. Going back and just being able to be with an audience again is one of the most important things to me," he concluded. "If that happens with The Mandalorian, all I can say is...please!"

Pascal is clearly optimistic about the possibility of playing this already iconic bounty hunter in a movie, and we'd think that a finale which premieres in theaters would be a massive box office hit. Remember, there's only so much room to tell Din's story in the twenty-five years or so between this show and The Force Awakens, and you have to believe Jon Favreau already has an endgame in mind.

For now, though, we're more than happy to see Mando's story continue each year on Disney+.
