"It doesn't look like anything to me..."
After months of radio silence, HBO has announced that the fourth season of acclaimed sci-fi epic Westworld is set to return on June 26, and the accompanying trailer is a little on the creepy side (to say the least).
Season 3 appeared to wrap up the current storyline, with Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood) sacrificing herself to ensure the survival of her people (there was more to it than that, but won't bore you with the details). However, Dolores looks set to return along with fellow principal protagonists Maeve Millay (Thandiwe Newton), Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright), and Caleb Nichols (Aaron Paul).
We also see the sinister Man in Black (Ed Harris), but it's unclear if he actually survived or is now simply a phantom/rogue programme.
Whatever the case may be, there is some seriously messed up stuff going on here, and we'd expect nothing less from this show! Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
Plot details remain a mystery for now. We do have a brief logline, but all it tells us is that season 4 of Westworld will be “a dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on earth.”
