We already knew cameras were rolling on Dune: Part Two in Budapest (a photo from the set did the rounds online last week), but Warner Bros. has now made it official by announcing the start of production via the movie's Twitter account.
Nothing too revealing, unfortunately, but the clapperboard does appear to give us a first look at the fairly basic title logo along with the tagline "Long Live the Fighters!" This comes from the Fremen mantra, Ya hya chouhada Muad'Dib (long live the fighters of Muad'Dib).

The aforementioned set photo gave us a first glimpse of Black Widow star Florence Pugh in-costume as Princess Irulan. She joins fellow new recruits Austin Butler (Elvis) as the evil Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, the legendary Christopher Walken as The Emperor, and Lea Seydoux (Crimes of the Future) as Lady Margot Fenring. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista will reprise their roles from the first film.
A recently released synopsis reads “Part Two will focus on Paul assembling a massive army of Fremen to combat the ruthless Harkonnen, as he essentially becomes a mythical messiah figure to the inhabitants of Arrakis.”
Warner Bros. recently announced that Dune: Part Two had been pushed back from October 20, 2023 to November 17, 2023.
