ELVIS Star Austin Butler In Talks To Play The Villainous Feyd-Rautha In DUNE: PART 2

Earlier this week, we learned that Black Widow actress Florence Pugh is in talks to play Princess Irulan Corrino in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part 2, and we now know who the director has in mind to take on another key role in the sci-fi sequel.

THR reports that Austin Butler, who will play the King of Rock 'n Roll in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming Elvis biopic, is in negotiations to play the villainous Feyd-Rautha. In Frank Herbert's novel, Feyd is the nephew of Baron Harkonnen, and every bit as sadistic and cunning as his vile uncle. Sting famously portrayed the character in David Lynch's '80s adaptation.

Warner Bros. and Legendary are also searching for an actor to play Irulan's duplicitous father Emperor Shaddam IV.

Dune: Part 2 will pick up where the first film left off, with Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and his mother Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) joining the Fremen in their fight to free Arrakis from the grip of the ruthless Harkonnen occupiers. All of the main cast are expected to return.

Dune: Part 2 is set to hit theaters on Oct. 20, 2023
