This new clip from HBO's upcoming science fiction television series Dune: Prophecy is giving off strong "Game of Thrones in space" vibes according to some of the franchise's biggest supporters. And after watching the footage, we have to agree.
The scene evokes strong memories of early scenes between Diana Rigg's Olenna Tyrell and Lena Headey's Cersei Lannister.

HBO's six-episode limited series Dune: Prophecy premieres on November 17, 2024.
Dune: Prophecy was developed by Diane Ademu-John and Alison Schapker and serves as a prequel to Denis Villeneuve's currently-ongoing Dune trilogy film series.
The show is based on the 2012 novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The show is set 10,000 years before the exploits of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet).
Dune: Prophecy stars Emily Watson as Valya Harkonnen, Olivia Williams as Tula Harkonnen, Jodhi May as Empress Natalya, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina as Princess Ynez, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Mikaela, Aoife Hinds as Sister Emeline and Jade Anouka as Sister Theodosia.
Of her character, Watson previously teased, "She’s a mother figure, but not in a comforting way. Valya’s approach to mentorship is to challenge and push those around her to their limits, especially in the Sisterhood."
She added, "It’s about survival, preparing them for what’s to come."
Additionally, Mark Stron co-stars as Emperor Javicco Corrino, while Travis Fimmel portrays Desmond Hart.
Alison Schapker served as showrunner and lead writer for the adaptation.
She recently told IGN, "We're telling a story over multiple time periods. So we were in the present with Valya Harkonnen as somebody who's already become the second Mother Superior and grown (the Sisterhood) and risen to power."
She continued, "And that's our present day story taking place. And we're also going to … be exploring the roots of Valya Harkonnen. And that happens 30 years prior to the present that we're telling."
