"Darren is dead... there is only M.O.D.O.K.!"

Spoilers follow.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania introduced M.O.D.O.K. to the MCU, and this take on the megalomaniacal Marvel Comics villain was either a highlight of the movie or one of the worst things about it, depending on who you ask.

The "Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing" is actually revealed to be Ant-Man 1 baddie Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket (Corey Stoll), who survived his battle with Scott Lang and was zapped into the Quantum Realm as a giant head with tiny limbs.

Kang (Jonathan Majors) discovered him, before kitting him out with Multiversal tech and making him his right-hand... head (find out more here).

M.O.D.O.K. is often portrayed as a ridiculous character, but this design has proven to be highly divisive (the slightly dodgy VFX didn't help). On the other hand, some feel that M.O.D.O.K.'s scenes worked very well, and that he was responsible for the funniest moments in the movie.

Aside from a very brief glimpse in the trailer and a few leaked shots (which we won't be sharing here), we've yet to see an official image of M.O.D.O.K. without his helmet, but writer Jeff Loveness has now taken to Twitter to share a behind-the-scenes look at the character's visual effects model.

What did you guys make of this incarnation of M.O.D.O.K.? Drop us a comment down below.

Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
