The first trailer for Wes Anderson's Asteroid City is now online, and it might be the most Wes Anderson thing that ever Wes Andersoned.

This latest film from the celebrated director, who has previously helmed the likes of Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom and Isle of Dogs, is set in the 1950s in a fictional American desert town. At a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention, which is designed to unite students and parents in scholarly competition, chaos ensues as world-changing events take place.

And yes, it looks like aliens are going to show up at some point.

Along with frequent Anderson collaborators such as Adrien Brody, Ed Norton, Jason Schwartzman, and Willem Dafoe, the movie stars Margot Robbie, Tom Hanks, Hong Chau, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, Grace Edwards, Aristou Meehan, Sophia Lillis, Ethan Lee, Jeff Goldblum and Rita Wilson.

Check out the trailer below along with a poster, and let us know what you think.

Asteroid City is set for a limited theatrical release on June 16 with a wider expansion June 23. The film is expected to world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
