Avatar: The Way of Water splashed down into theaters last December and instantly started breaking box office records. The movie also found plenty of awards success, with Production Designer Ben Procter among those who received Oscar nominations for their work on the sequel.

While he's previously worked on the Transformers, TRON, and Superman franchises, Avatar is a series he's committed to in a big way. As well as serving as Production Designer on The Way of Water, Procter will lend his talents to Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 as well.

With both Avatar movies now available on 4K, we recently had the opportunity to interview Ben about how his work on Avatar in the Art Department prepared him for the sequel (0:23), how the Na'vi culture and RDA had to evolve and change from movie to movie (3:47), and that epic final battle aboard the SeaDragon (10:20).

The Production Designer also commented briefly on his Avatar 3 return, sharing an update on where things stand with the threequel.

"We're working on [Avatar] 3 right now, trying to get it out the door with the visual effects [and] handoff process. Before anything could be rendered, Jim's got these cameras, right? That's where the shots come from [and is] a step that you know before you hand it off. We're busily improving and prepping the sets to get ready for that process."

"As far as teasing anything more, that is not in my job description [Laughs]. That's maybe in John Jon Landau's if you try, [but] that is not mine. All I can say is that we started on this in 2013, with a team that grew and contains so many wonderful people. We've been working on it as an overall world, with many interesting places to go and things to see from the very beginning."

"And so I'll just say, I can't tell you what's coming, but I can tell you a lot of cool stuff is coming..."

Avatar: The Way of Water is now available on Digital and arrived on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD on June 20. Avatar was also made available on 4K for the first time on June 20.
