AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER, ANDOR's Diego Luna, And HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Among Golden Globes Nominations

We're still days away from Avatar: The Way of Water being released in theaters, but it's received some noteworthy Golden Globes nominations, as have the likes of Andor and House of the Dragon. Check it out!

The nominations for next year's Golden Globe Awards have been revealed, and despite not even being in theaters yet, Avatar: The Way of Water has found its way into the "Best Motion Picture" category alongside the year's biggest movie, Top Gun: Maverick

James Cameron has also received a nod for "Best Director," and as the Golden Globes usually offer a pretty good idea of what to expect from the Oscars, this definitely bodes well for the Avatar sequel.

On the small screen, Diego Luna has been recognised for his work in Andor, though the series itself - which received widespread critical acclaim - has not been nominated. House of the Dragon, meanwhile, is receiving plenty of attention, clearly joining Game of Thrones as a show that regularly received attention during awards season.

Elsewhere, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Angela Bassett is making headlines for a well-deserved "Best Supporting Actress" nod.

Aside from Rihanna's "Lift Me Up" also receiving some attention, it's a predictably quiet year for Marvel Studios. None of the Disney+ TV shows have been recognised this time around, though that's not overly surprising after what's proven to be a hit-and-miss year for the MCU.

Take a look at the full list of nominations for the 2023 Golden Globes below.
