While we know this isn't necessarily the live-action revival or reboot many of you have been hoping for, the first trailer for J. Michael Straczynski's animated Babylon 5: The Road Home has finally been released.
The sixth movie in the sci-fi franchise that kicked off with a beloved TV series which ran from 1993 to 1998, Straczynski returns to pen the screenplay and produce the project. All signs point to this being a celebration of all things Babylon 5, with the story picking up two years after the Shadow War concluded.
Thanks to the Multiverse, John Sheridan (Bruce Boxleitner) will travel through alternate timelines and parallel realities, opening the door to us meeting different versions of familiar faces.
"Return to Babylon 5 as the epic interstellar saga continues with The Road Home," reads the synopsis. "Travel across the galaxy with John Sheridan as he unexpectedly finds himself transported through multiple timelines and alternate realities in a quest to find his way back home."
"Along the way he reunites with some familiar faces, while discovering cosmic new revelations about the history, purpose, and meaning of the Universe."
In terms of the movie's cast, we can expect to also see Claudia Christian as Susan Ivanova, Peter Jurasik as Londo Mollari, Bill Mumy as Lennier, Tracy Scoggins as, Elizabeth Lochley, and Patricia Tallman as Lyta Alexander.
Additional cast members include Paul Guyet as Zathras and Jeffrey Sinclair, Anthony Hansen as Michael Garibaldi, Mara Junot as Reporter and Computer Voice, Phil LaMarr as Dr. Stephen Franklin, Piotr Michael as David Sheridan, Andrew Morgado as G'Kar, and Rebecca Riedy as Delenn.
