BATMAN VS. PREDATOR? PREY Star And Character Effects Artist Hope To Make The Crossover Happen!

Prey has been a huge hit on Hulu, and the movie's Predator, Dane DiLiegro, has shared his hopes to star in a crossover with DC Comics superhero Batman. Could it happen? Find more details after the jump!

The Predator franchise expanded greatly after that 1987 movie, crossing over into comic books, video games, and the Alien series once upon a time (the less said about that, the better). The iconic monster has even squared off with Batman, but could that become a reality in live-action?

Unfortunately, no. Disney now owns the property after acquiring Fox, hence why we recently got a reboot, Prey, on Hulu. That's taken the franchise back to basics and earned universally positive reviews from fans and critics alike, so we're guessing any sort of flashy crossovers probably aren't on the table for now.

Despite that, Predator actor Dane DiLiegro and character effects artist Tom Woodruff would love to see this iteration of the alien test itself against Gotham City's Caped Crusader.

"I like the idea of Batman fighting a Predator," Woodruff told ComicBook.com. "I'll take that one. Dane, if nobody else goes for it, you and me and a little camcorder, we're going to make this work."

As for which Batman he'd like to face, DiLiegor added, "I like [Christian] Bale's. I like what they did with his character, that tank that he drives. I would have to go Christian Bale would probably be the most formidable. [Ben] Affleck is a Boston guy. I'm from Boston. We'd get into conversation about things."

If any meeting with a comic book character happens, it will be with one from the Marvel Universe. A number of variant covers featuring various characters facing the Predator have already been released, so we'd bet that the formidable hunter battles Spider-Man and The Avengers long before crossing paths with Batman again.

Still, it's an undeniably fun prospect to think about the Predator fighting Batman in live-action, and a real shame it will probably never happen. You never know with Hollywood, though.

“…and the Alien series once upon a time (the less said about that the better).”

You mean the Versus Series that spun originated all these other Predator Vs series? The one that very well received by its fandoms in comics, books, and wildly popular games? Two AVP films that were mediocre yet still kept the franchise alive. That’s the “Alien series” you deem not worthy of mentioning?

My only solace is this is the SFFGazette where the only person reading this comment might be you Josh. Do better, you’ve been given a platform and an audience. Do better.
