The review embargo for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts lifted earlier today and, inevitably, spoilers have begun to find their way online. To begin with, we're keeping things spoiler-free by answering a question we know many of you will have: does the movie have a post-credits scene?
Yes, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has a mid-credits scene; however, there is nothing at the end of the movie's credits.
You now know how long you'll have to wait when the action ends, but as for what happens in that sole stinger, we have a description of that as well! Needless to say, spoilers will follow from this point on...
Earlier in the movie, Mirage (Pete Davidson) battles Scourge (Peter Dinklage) and is seemingly killed after protecting Noah (Anthony Ramos) from a deadly energy blast. However, the Autobot manages to allow his human ally to take over and transforms into an exoskeleton for him to wear during the final battle.
Once the day is won, we catch up with Noah in the mid-credits scene where he's shown working on an old junker. However, it then transforms into Mirage, confirming Noah has repaired his robotic pal and that the Autobot will live to fight another day!
As for how the movie's ending sets the stage for a crossover event Hasbro fans have spent years dreaming about, we have details on that for you here.
"Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world," reads the synopsis, "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a '90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new breed of Transformer – the Maximals – to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons."
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set to be released in U.S. theatres on June 9, but arrives in the UK slightly earlier on June 8.
