Based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka's 2004 novel All You Need Is Kill, Edge of Tomorrow was released in 2014 to positive reviews and an impressive $370 million haul at the worldwide box office on a $178 million budget.

Directed by Dough Liman, the movie starred Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt as soldiers trapped in a time loop, with the former using that as an opportunity to better his skills and eventually defeat Earth's alien invaders. It was a fun premise that left sci-fi fans desperate for a sequel.

As of right now, that appears no closer to happening, but Blunt has shared some insights into her time working on the project.

"We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would've been great if we had CGI'd them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way," Blunt revealed during the SmartLess podcast. "When you hear the word 'tactile,' you think that sounds nice and cozy. There was nothing cozy about these suits. It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy."

"The first time I put it on I started to cry, and [Cruise] didn't know what to do," the actress admitted. "I was like, 'Tom, I'm not sure how I'm going to get through this shoot,' and just started to cry. 'I'm feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot.'"

"He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, 'Come on, stop being such a pussy, OK?'" By no means offended by her co-star's remarks, Blunt recalls laughing after being caught off guard by what he said and explained how it then made embarking on the production that much easier.

However, the suit did result in long-lasting injuries to her ribs and collarbone.

Cruise is no stranger to dangerous stunts and continues to push the boundaries of what he's capable of. With that in mind, his harsh words of advice make sense and clearly helped Blunt at a time when she needed help breaking through that wall.

Are you still hoping for an Edge of Tomorrow sequel?
