The first trailer for Geremy Jasper's post-apocalyptic rock opera O'Dessa has been released and fans of the musical genre are definitely intrigued.

Comparisons to Mad Max, Divergent, Hunger Games, and Snowpiercer are quickly surfacing as movie enthusiasts get their first look at the project.

The film is also drawing comparison to the underrated '80s animated film, Rock and Rule.

Stranger Things breakout star Sadie Sink headlines the project as a young woman who must recapture her magical family heirloom after tragedy strikes her farm.

Previously discussing the project, Sink disclosed that she started out her career in musical theatre so her turn in the upcoming pic as a vocal heroine is nothing outside of her comfort zone.

Said Sink, "That's kind of how I got into all of this, but I haven't really touched on that since I was younger. So getting back into it, I definitely leaned on a lot of my closest friends who are in the music industry, and they helped me come out of my shell in that space a little bit more."

She added, "I'm excited for everyone to see it because it's a combination of basically everything that I've done in my career so far, and it'll be exciting to share it."
