Excitement for Mad Max: Fury Road spinoff Furiosa is revving up in a big way, and another round of set photos have found their way online today. Shared on social media, these offer a much closer look at Chris Hemsworth's villainous character, though the consensus now is that he's likely playing the Warlord Dementus and not Immortan Joe.

Anya Taylor-Joy's Furiosa looks set to find herself caught in the middle of a war between the two tyrants in this prequel, and Hemsworth's Biker Horde leader certainly looks formidable. A warlord of the Wasteland who kidnaps the future Imperator Furiosa from the Green Place, Dementus' forces arrive at the Citadel and come into conflict with another warlord, Immortan Joe.

Regardless of who the Thor: Love and Thunder star is playing, he certainly looks at home on that massive monster truck.

It's quite the transformation for Hemsworth, though Anya Taylor-Joy was also recently photographed on the set of Furiosa as the movie's title character, and she too looks quite a bit different to her usual self.

The actor appears to be enjoying taking on antagonist roles as the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel follows Spiderhead, the Netflix movie that saw him play a full-blown villain. Dementus certainly looks a far cry from the MCU's God of Thunder, anyway, and we can't wait to see more from this one.

"As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus," reads a recently released synopsis. "Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home."

Cameras are once again rolling on Furiosa, and it's currently set to be released in theaters on May 24, 2024.
