Production got underway on Sony Pictures' Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel last month, and the first photos from the set have now been shared online.
The snaps (via Daily Mail) show original spook-hunter Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) alongside Paul Rudd's Mr. Grooberson (did we ever get his first name?) who debuted in the last movie, and another actor from the '80s classic!
Spoilers follow.
Yes, William Atherton will reprise his role as "dickless" Environmental Protection Agency officer, Walter Peck.
You can check out the photos at the link below.
We're not sure why Peck would be sniffing around the Firehouse again, but the team did make him look like a fool when they saved the city after he forced them to switch off the containment unit, so perhaps he's out for revenge?
Plot details are still under wraps, but after moving the spooky adventures to a more rural setting for Afterlife, it's been confirmed that we'll be returning to New York City in the next movie.
Other main cast members Carrie Coon (Callie Spengler) Finn Wolfhard (Trevor), and Mckenna Grace (Phoebe) are expected to return, but it's not clear if Hudson's fellow Ghostbusters OGs Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd will also reprise their roles.
In the previous movie's stinger, we saw Winston return to the team's old headquarters, where the refurbished ECTO-1 was waiting. Though nothing has been confirmed just yet, the implication was that Zeddemore was planning to train a new group of Ghostbusters.
