The first set photos from Apple TV+'s untitled Godzilla: King of the Monsters spinoff have been revealed now that cameras are rolling in Vancouver, Canada.
WandaVision director Matt Shakman is set to helm the show's first two episodes, so what do these images tell us about the show? Well, we can see that scenes will be set in a military base, with at least some of the story set in Oakland, California.
It's hardly a surprise that the military will factor into the show, especially with it taking place in the aftermath of all those Titan attacks. Those monsters are expected to factor heavily into proceedings, while the spotlight is also going to be turned to the clandestine organisation that's been prevalent throughout all these movies, Monarch.
Canadagraphs has shared a tonne of photos on their website, along with a description of what they saw. "Anna Sawai was on set as 'Cate' doing [two] different scenes," the site explains. "First scene was with Tamlyn Tomita. The first scene saw Anna walk across a lot while people walk around, and a truck rolls through. She comes to a pair of chairs set up in front of tents. There she comes up to Tamlyn's character, and gives her a drink [and] food."
"A bit later, she moved over to the next part of the lot. Here she does a scene with an actor. She walked through a different lot, turns around, sees the man, they run to each other, hug in an excited embrace," the report continues. "They then talk for a while, before having an argument, and the man leaves, and she just stands there looking around."
The untitled project will take place in the aftermath of the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that levelled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, with the focus put on one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.
Stay tuned for the latest on this Godzilla: King of the Monsters spinoff as we have it.
